INFORMATION ABOUT GICLEE'S
The giclee (pronounced "jeeclay") method of printmaking is a state-of-the-art technology advancement in the world of fine art printing. They are high resolution, museum quality prints, which are the recognized standard for fine art digital printing. Giclee is a French word implying spraying or droplets of ink; the depth of color is much more advanced than that of lithographs. The process involves communication between the Artist and the Printer, (of which we are the Artist and the Printer). For a collector, a Giclee print is by far, the best representation of an original.
First, a high resolution digital picture is made from the original art. Samples are made using archival inks, a printer with 8-colors and acid free paper until the artist is satisfied with the fidelity of the reproduction. After many adjustments, getting the giclee print to represent the original as close as possible, the final prints are made on an as needed basis.
